Difference of Making a Living and a Life

Life in a corporate world seem exciting for newly grads.. Someone who's just starting out their career on their chosen field seem a new journey after graduation.

From studying at school with your allowance from parents shifting to earning a living working in a company has a big difference.

Working in a corporate world could be overwhelming at first it's either stressful, too much of expectation and comparison. It's very easy to drift away to the trend and flow. 8 - 5 pm jobs 6 days a week could be tiring and much more restless specially if your boss ask you to work on Sunday! oh my wala ng social life wala pang love life. How sad naman to all of those employees who badly needed to work during Sunday..

It ain't fun trust me.. Yung overtime mo probably sa food mo lang pupunta dahil sa extended hours working or taxes!

Just recently watch a scene in a move. His dad just told his son who is a doctor told him you're 35 years old now and we're waiting for our grand child. Please just don't earn a living but make a life also.

This doctor is just too workaholic. It reminds me of our corporate president. Who's around 35 years old. She got everything investments, car and she owned her house in a exclusive subdivision. Name it she got everything except a partner.

There's nothing wrong how she work and how she carry herself. She's very neat talks about being a president. That's how she supposed to behave right? However there's nothing wrong earning a living working but if it's swimming in a pool of paper works from Monday to Saturday it might be too much..

There should be time for you to enjoy time to time right? Drive around to Tagaytay have some coffee or visit Nuvali chill out lang.

For those who had used to working for years like this salute to you idol kita! For those who have a same job like me as recruitment staff I know makaka relate ka...

Everyday OT kakahanap ng applicants out there. Goodness it ain't easy as ordering burger and french fries sa MCDO or Jollibee anytime meron delivery.. You got too much client waiting for your applicants ay talaga naman.

Anyway just chill lang sa work kahit nakakapagod. Enjoy mo yan cause it's your bread and butter unless burnout kana and gusto mo na tumambay ulit. There's so many choices out there just try to look for better opportunities.

If you're a recruitment like me feel free to reach us for collaboration email us recruitmentmdhii@gmail.com

What to Say and Not Say During Interview

How's our job search so far???
Marami na bang calls and appointments for final interview schedule? If you have good luck po!

Todays topic would be what you have to say and don't say during interview.

I'll just give a list below and this would be based on my experience whenever I get hired or not.

What not to say during interview and what you have to say to interviewer.

1. If you have previous job where you did not resign or in short you AWOL or absent without  leave. Never ever disclose it to employer for what ever reason bakit ka nagawol don't disclose. It will just worsened your question and answer during interview. Iisipin lang ng employer mo madali ka lang sumuko or papalit palit ka ng job which is makikita rin naman sa previous company mo.

I had my own experience which is I did have different job before listed on my resume but there would be a valid reason why you left those companies. Better find a better reason for it if ilalagay mo sya on your resume. I encounter this during my interview on our president in my current company. You should know how to defend it if hindi ka tumagal sa company mo.

2. If you have issues with people or your boss. This might cause employer to think you can't adjust to environment and culture. They might think mahina ka in terms of attitude. Remember kahit san companies may mga taong hindi mo makakasundo or magiging kaclose. We can't please anyone okay. Just remember if you came for work that should be your priority. If it happens naman marami kang naging friends doon that would be a bonus.

3. Don't disclose anything personal like problems or personal business that would cause conflict of interest. One time may applicant and during his interview he disclosed about his venture a startup company which is nagapply sya para mapondohan yun business na inumpisahan nya. When employer heard it negative agad result and posible kasi gamitin lang ng applicant you company for own interest. Be careful disclosing this kind of things.

4. When interviewer ask questions be attentive at all times. Don't make them feel hindi ka nakikinig sa kanila. Bad shot agad yun for sure. It may seem for then na hindi ka interesado sa trabahong inaaplyan mo. Better you have story for what they are asking specially if situational yun questions. Just to make them feel very serious ka where you should be dapat talaga.

5. If english speaking yun interviewer dapat same kayo. Don't be too relax wag masyadong kampante baka kung anu ano na yung nakwento mo. Which is irelevant naman sa questions nya.

6. Make straight to the point answer wag paligoy ligoy sa mga sagot during interview. They might find inconsistent ka sa mga sagot mo. It's a sign na there's something wrong with you. remember pagmagulo ka kausap don't expect mahired ka.

7. Just be polite and magalang at all times. Use words correctly dapat magalang ka use sir or ma'am. We all been educated naman during values education during high school dapat magamit natin yun.

8. If interviewer ask for your job experience. Just tell then magcreate ka ng story if anung ginagawa mo just make it detailed para klaro. Remember tell them relevant experience for the position you are applying.  I'm not advising you to use make up story yung kwento lang hindi naman talaga naging job mo before. Mahihirapan ka lang sa job mo for sure if ever mahired ka. If ever you got hired dapat mapanindigan mo.

Hopefully I gave you enough tips para mahire ka sa next job interview mo. You can always subscribe by putting your emails on the right upper box above.

Building an Attractive Resume

You've sent hundreds of applications off and online pero walang tawag or response from companies?

We might have serious adjustment na dapat gawin siguro. For sure it has something to do on what you write on your resume.

There are lots of reason why you don't have any calls or text yet from employers. Here's on my list.

1. Yung inapplyan mo hindi tailor fit yun experience mo previously dun sa mga dati mong work experience. Hindi ba related sa inaaplyan mo. Don't just send resume to employer especially hindi naman fit sa experience mo yung job opening. If hard copies yan sinesend mo baka masayang yun paper and copies mo. Best tip check their job opening then proceed to apply. Make sure you have written everything related in your resume before sending it to employers.

2. Please specify your job description. We employers and interviewers are happy if you've written down all the important aspect of your forte and experience if you have achievements on previous job specify specify specify.

3. Please use standard format sizes, fonts and professional picture on your resume. Don't put large fonts like 13 above kahit 12 or 11 ok na.

Profile Pictures
Wag naman po yung profile picture sa Facebook.. You can just use 2x2 pictures with white background and formal attire on your picture. Nagbibigay sya ng good impression sa employer. If college graduate make sure use formal picture hindi yun naka t-shirt doon sa photo. Small details is important okay.

4. Make a good layout. From my copies of resume I always put personal info on top. names, email, mobile #. Then career objective just make a nice statement on your objective if you can make it personal use that on your resume. then work experience with details of name of company, date started and ended, your job position and your job descriptions please isa isahin mo yung bawat task na ginagawa mo. When I started my career with no experience OJT lang meron ako but I specified everything, to making analysis and case study, put everything you might never know nandun yun hinahanap ng employer mo. I remember during interview wala talagang laman yung resume ko.. not too much work experience. Ang meron lang ojt experience. but I listed everything then my boss caught something sa inilagay ko a simple word case study. Then one reason yun probably why they hire me.

Let say yung employer mo is naghahanap ng may experience in certain task or process. If mabasa nila yun sa resume automatic tatawagan ka nan. If hindi possible incomplete details na nilagay mo.

Again importante nakadetails lahat. Pare pareho man ng position na inaaplyan advantage mo yun sa ibang applicant if well written yung resume mo.

5. When sending email please specify kung anung inaaplyan position make a cover letter then attach your updated resume. Isang factor din yun para manotice yung application mo. remember maraming email narerecieve si employer mo possible matabunan yun emails. Use MS word or PDF format for your resume.

6. Use only related experience in your resume based on what position you are applying. When I went Dubai napakaraming applicant. Sales position ang hinahanap ng employer so dapat panay sales experience yung makikita nila sa papel mo. If hindi related dun yun paper mo better edit it muna, comp shop or laptop ka muna for the meantime. Wag saying yung oras maliit lang kasi yun chance mo matawagan.

So for the meantime I hope I'd share useful tips to help you find your job.

Interview Preparation for Fresh Graduate to get hired

Every graduate students might have a challenge how to get a job, specially if they have no experience yet on their profile.

These are simple tips you can do before and during interview.

> First is your appearance I talk about this on my first blog post earlier. Look good and wear a good formal or semi formal attire depending on your position you're applying for. First impression last.

> Your resume must be atleast 2 page or 3. Put every experience relavant for the position. avoid putting experience that has conflict when you left in that company, example awol or absent without leave. It's a bad impression. put any affiliate membership to a group during school days. Makikita ng employer na you have team player qualities or anything showing a leadership qualities, magugustuhan sya ng employer. Please elaborate your ojt experience, almost all graduate meron naman OJT. Use that as an edge if you don't have a previous job.

> Put job description on your resume if you have previous work experience even on your ojt.

> During interview just be professional, look at the interviewer in the eye make them feel serious ka sa job na inaaplyan mo. Pay attention pagnagsasalita yun interviewer. Dun pa lang malalaman seryoso at nakikinig ka. If english speaking yung interview you should also be speaking english too.

> Don't feel too relax or loose. baka sinusubukan ka lang ng interviewer. It's a sign na possible maging cause ka ng issues in terms of how you take your job seriously or professionally. May time na nagiging comfortable na tayo sa interview specially pagmabait yun nagiinterviewer. But once parang nagkkwentuhan na lang kayo and mostly it's about your job na yung usapan there's a big chance you're hired.

> Just sell your attitude and qualities in terms how you approach work. Just be yourself and don't be intimidated. Just tell the employer anung benefits nila for hiring you. They doesn't care your personal life too much so don't open up any of your personal problems  during interview. It won't help you get a job.

> Last advice just be confident but not too over confident okay..

Goodluck on your next job interview. Please subscribe if you found this helpful. I'll post another helpful tips soon.

Proper Attire During Interview

First impression last! May bad experience ka na ba regarding on your dress during interview?

I've been thru many interviews before. Naexperience ko before I was applying for office staff position and that time since kasama ko yung friend ko which is applying for operator position naka-dress lang ako ng polo shirt with collar.

Ang haba ng pila and andami namin nagexam that time.

When they finally called my name.

Yung interviewer ask me "what position you're applying for?" sabi ko office staff po. He then told me if office staff apply mo bakit yan yung suot mo? In first reaction medyo mapapahiya ka but syempre he's right totoo yun sinabi nya. Ang hirap magaliby and I'm not prepared.

We should wear appropriate dress when applying for the position we want. If office staff or supervisor it's almost automatic dapat naka formal attire ka. Don't wear shirt or jeans for both guy and lady specially office staff yun apply mo, slacks and long sleeves for a guy. If girl formal dress would do as long as desente yun dress and wholesome yung looks.

If sa lalaki na walang longsleeves kahit polo with kwelyo or collar okay na. Just tucked-in properly your polo or longsleeves if you are wearing one.

Employer also see your character the way you dress up. Maging maayos that would be one basis also para mahire ka.

Importante yun appearance during interview with employer. Unang tingin pa lang they can be attracted agad. But hindi lang yun ang basis, how the way you present yourself and your attitude during interview it will be a big factor plus experience.

I also experience interviewing applicants in our office which is office staff position or graduate of four year pero they dress up like operators. Look if graduate of any courses better po just wear good attire even semi formal will be nice.

Yung suot natin when it comes to interview will show employer what kind of a person tayo interms of personality and manners.

Just look good and leave a good impression for the interviewee, maalala nya kayo once you leave a very good looks plus a better conversation during interview.

I'll be posting some articles regarding those topic soon.
